Hey Perv! I'm taking a bath here!
I have a flock of blue jays who visit my garden. There are between 6 and 10 of these birds who come to take a bath. It is quite amusing to watch them splash all of the water out of the bath.
I wasn't aware that blue jays were social birds. I thought they were more loners. However, it's quite clear that they use the group for protection. They have an odd sort of behavior both at the bath and at the feeders. One jay chases the other off -- and then is chased off when another swoops in.

I have seen woodpeckers do something similar at my feeder. They chase off any other bird that dares to use the feeder at the same time. It's a tube feeder so there is plenty of room but that doesn't seem to matter.
